A major update has emerged on the future of Saraya (formerly Paige in WWE) and her contract status with AEW.
It was previously reported that Saraya’s AEW contract was set to expire this month.
In a new update, Fightful Select reports that Saraya is set to stay in AEW for at least another year.
She has reportedly re-signed with the promotion on a one-year agreement that runs until September 2025.
There was said to be an option year that AEW could have picked up at the end of her last contract, but sources implied her new one-year deal could actually be a separate new agreement rather than just the activation of that option year.
Saraya debuted for AEW at Dynamite Grand Slam 2022, and won the Women’s World Championship at All In London 2023.
Most recently, she had a match last night against Jamie Hayter that will air on this coming Saturday’s AEW Collision Grand Slam.
She’s previously suggested that the door was left open for an eventual return to WWE as it was the previous regime that decided not to keep her, not the current regime led by Triple H.
