Saraya Confirms Turning Down AEW Romance Storyline

Saraya has revealed a pitch for a romance angle in AEW which she turned down, revealing why she rejected the idea.

Speaking in an “Ask Me Anything” edition of Rulebreakers With Saraya, the former AEW star revealed that at one point she was pitched a love storyline with “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard.

Noting that she turned down this storyline because she didn’t think it was appropriate, having a boyfriend at the time, Saraya explained:

“In AEW, there’s a wrestler called Daddy Magic. They wanted me to do a love storyline with him. I’ve managed to go my whole career without doing a love storyline, and I wasn’t going to start it.

“They were like, ‘No, all he’s going to do is kiss you.’ I had a boyfriend at the time, and I was just like, ‘I can’t do it, you guys. I just can’t do it’, so I turned it down.

“If I have to kiss someone and I have a boyfriend, I just don’t think it’s appropriate. I love Daddy Magic, good guy, but I couldn’t do it.”

With Saraya announcing her AEW exit in late-March, there has been a lot of rumors swirling about the former “Paige” making a WWE return.
