Saraya has given an update on the state of her neck, and it seems like it is good news.
Saraya (FKA Paige) sustained a neck injury during a WWE dark match that forced her into retirement in 2018.
Much has been said since Saraya’s shock arrival at AEW during Dynamite: Grand Slam, from speculation over whether or not she was cleared, to criticisms of the medical professionals who had cleared her.
Now Saraya has offered her perspective on her recovery. On the latest episode of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Saraya was asked how she felt about her neck.
She said:
“It’s good. Yeah, I feel really healthy and my neck feels fantastic. And I would definitely want to take it slower this time around, you know, if there was any physicality and stuff like that, I just want to really take care of my body.
“Because as much as I want to rush into doing all these different matches, I know what happened last time, right. So I just want to take it as slow as possible.”
So it all seems very positive, and Saraya’s intent to take it slowly provides an explanation to those speculating over the extent of her in-ring action.
Since her AEW debut, the former WWE Divas Champion has had a run-in with Dr Britt Baker DMD on the October 5 edition of Dynamite, that saw her get physical for the first since her retirement.
Following this, it was reported that Saraya had been officially cleared to wrestle by AEW physician Dr Michael Sampson.
Saraya previously addressed criticism of the decision, which you can read about right here.
Saraya had been a free agent since her contract expired with WWE in July after the company, specifically Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis at the time, did not attempt to renew it.
The new WWE regime headed by Triple H was said to have made an offer to Saraya, which she recently confirmed.
The former Paige explained that she rejected their offer and decided on AEW due to the freedom they would allow her to pursue other projects.

Wrestling fans will no doubt be pleased to hear this positive news about Saraya’s neck injury and will look forward to seeing her develop in AEW at a pace that suits her and her physicians.
