Saraya Reveals Backstage Reaction To William Regal AEW Departure

William Regal appears to be on his way out of All Elite Wrestling after his arrival in the company back at AEW Revolution this year.

Regal was written off AEW television on last week’s Dynamite, and is reportedly set for an imminent return to WWE.

Regal’s departure has led to a lot of speculation from fans online, with those within the company claiming rumours of him leaving due to backstage issues are ‘complete BS’.

AEW star Saraya spoke to Metro UK, where she detailed the backstage reaction to Regal’s departure.

She said:

“Everyone has an opinion on that. The reality is, it doesn’t have anything to do with anything backstage, it’s to do with how he feels.

“Us behind the scenes know why, and we’re happy for him! Whether he’s going there or whatever, it doesn’t matter. We’re just happy with whatever he wants to do with his life.

“He’s at the age where he can do whatever he wants to without the internet deep diving into it, or everyone saying this, that and the other about him. Who cares? Let him be happy!”

Regal betrayed Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club in the main event of AEW Full Gear, helping MJF win the championship.

MJF then betrayed Regal on the November 30 episode of Dynamite, laying him out with a brass knuckles shot.

Saraya recently made her return to the ring in AEW, defeating Britt Baker at Full Gear.
