Sasha Banks Was Backstage For WWE SmackDown This Week

A backstage update has emerged on the WWE status of Sasha Banks, following the Friday, September 3 episode of SmackDown.

As per Fightful Select (subscription required), Sasha Banks was backstage for this week’s edition of SmackDown.

Banks reportedly hasn’t been at WWE shows since before SummerSlam, where she was advertised for a SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair. At the August 21 pay-per-view, Belair instead faced Becky Lynch, losing her title in under a minute.

Lynch’s return was pushed forward due to Banks’ absence, and was kept a secret from others backstage.

As per PWInsider, Banks is expected to make her own WWE return on the September 10 SmackDown show, airing from Madison Square Garden.

Banks recently made another appearance on Hot Ones, taking on the Paqui One Chip Challenge.
