One of the most talked moments of last night’s (August 21) SummerSlam show was Becky Lynch making her return to WWE after 16 months away, defeating Bianca Belair in 27 seconds to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Bianca’s original opponent for the show, Sasha Banks, was deemed unable to compete at the show, despite the company claiming they were previously.
PWInsider has since confirmed that Sasha’s reason for being unable to compete is not injury related.
Belair also missed last week’s house shows in the Carolinas, but she returned to the road prior to Friday’s SmackDown show in Phoenix. Sasha was originally scheduled for the show, but was not present.
Segments on the show had to be re-written due to her absence on the show.
