Sasha Banks Wraps Filming For Her First Movie

Former WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has provided a big update on an upcoming project she’s working on away from the ring.

Banks, real name Mercedes Varnado, hasn’t appeared for WWE since she and Naomi walked out on the May 16 Raw taping.

While there has been speculation surrounding her return to the ring, Varnado has been focusing on several projects that aren’t related to wrestling.

The popular star has now revealed that she has finished filming for her first movie role.

Not giving too much away, Varnado tweeted:

“Just wrapped my first movie in #Bosston”

As previously confirmed by actor Mike Messier, Tom DeNucci is directing the film that Sasha Banks has a role in.

The former WWE champion was recently spotted training in the ring with Juventud Guerrera, fuelling speculation that she will soon make her wrestling return.

There have also been rumors that Varnado is done with WWE, with with the May 2023 Comic Con Revolution event advertising her as ‘fka’ (formerly known as) Sasha Banks. 

It was reported in August that Banks and Naomi had agreed in principle to make their returns.
