Local advertising in Tampa suggests Sasha Banks could make her WWE in-ring return on the July 22 episode of Raw.
Banks has been AWOL since shortly after WrestleMania 35, walking out on the company over frustrations with her creative direction.
The former multiple-time Women’s Champion has since been spotted on vacation, changing her hairstyle, attending concerts and training with Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestlers in Japan.
Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that WWE is viewing Sasha’s return as “to be determined” with no definite date decided.
Meltzer also notes that when Banks met with Vince McMahon several months back the belief after the meeting was that Banks would likely return before the end of the summer.
That Banks has been training in Japan suggests she is trying to get back in ring shape for a comeback.
Obviously she could train at the WWE Performance Center but she may not want to be under such scrutiny from her peers and having to field a million difficult questions.
The way the Bayley, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross story has been played out on television of late it seems like an easy fit for Sasha to slot into the programme. Some reports even suggest her comeback could be as early as Extreme Rules.
Either way, if Sasha is to return to the ring then WWE is her only real option as the promotion will simply freeze her contract indefinitely to prevent her from wrestling elsewhere.
