A NJPW star has commented on his AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door match.
On the June 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, the company revealed the bracket for the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament.
To kick off the tournament, former two-time AEW World Champion CM Punk will go one-on-one with former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima in a first round bout. This will mark Punk’s first AEW pay-per-view match since All Out 2022.
On June 22, Kojima took to Twitter to react to the huge dream match against a star the caliber of Punk. He tweeted:
I am very nervous now.
Of course.
Because I am not world famous.
It’s an honor to fight a world-famous wrestler.
It is my pleasure to represent my 32 year career.

The rest of the first round for the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament will see Samoa Joe vs. Roderick Strong, Dustin Rhodes vs. Powerhouse Hobbs and Juice Robinson vs. Ricky Starks. All three of these matches will take place during the upcoming AEW Collision taping on June 29, which will air on Saturday, July 1.
Ahead of his showdown with Kojima at Forbidden Door, CM Punk will team with FTR and Ricky Starks to face Jay White, Juice Robinson and The Gunns on the June 24 episode of AEW Collision.
