Scorpio Sky Calls Out Miro For AEW TNT Championship Match AEW

AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky has teased a future title defence against Miro.

Miro returned to the ring on Wednesday’s (June 1) edition of AEW Dynamite, defeating Johnny Elite (John Morrison) in singles action.

Speaking on an edition of AEW Unrestricted podcast taped before Double or Nothing and Miro’s Dynamite return, Scorpio Sky vowed to beat Miro, wanting fans to finally shut up about him.

Confident in his own abilities, Sky said:

“Well, not a day goes by that I don’t receive several tweets from people saying that Miro should be the champion and not me. So I would like to extend an invitation for him to come up and try to take this from me. So, Miro, if you’re out there, you want it? Come and get it. But when I beat him, y’all gotta shut the hell up about it.

“I’ll face anybody. I’m not scared. I’m not ducking and dodging anybody. That’s why it took me so long to get this championship belt, right? Because everybody was ducking and dodging me. Nobody wanted to wrestle me. I didn’t get matches on Dynamite. Why? Because nobody wanted to face me, because I wasn’t like this star-caliber guy that used to work for Vince McMahon.

“So if you’re getting the ring with me and you look bad, then you don’t gain anything from it. So now they got to come after me. I’m the man now, and whether people want to respect it or not, whether people want to give me my do or not, I am the man.

“You know, Giannis Antetokounmpo once stood in a room full of media and he said, ‘One day I’m going to be an MVP,’ and the entire room laughed at him.

“So when I sit in this room, and I say, ‘I’m the man,’ there are some people saying, ‘Ah, yeah, cool.’ They’re giving me courtesy claps but I know you guys don’t believe it. I know you guys are not really — you’re kind of sitting here. You’re waiting for Thunder Rosa, you’re waiting for Hangman to come up. But let me tell you this. I’m gonna go out and I’m gonna prove it.

“If you give me the opportunity, put me in the ring with anybody, anybody, and I will guarantee you this: there is not a person employed by AEW that can outwork me.”

Sky is slated to defend his TNT Title against Dante Martin on Friday’s edition of AEW Rampage. The upcoming show will also feature Athena’s first bout in AEW.
