AEW TNT Champion has revealed that he was dealing with a leg injury during Friday’s (June 3) edition of Rampage.
On the show, Sky defended his gold against Dante Martin.
On Twitter, Sky has revealed that near the beginning of the match, he strained a muscle in his right leg. His knee had been hurting prior to the bout, per Sky’s posts.
Hopeful that his injury won’t be too serious, Sky wrote:
“I went into last nights match with my knee bothering me and unfortunately in the opening minutes I strained a muscle that goes from my knee up through my groin. My right leg was useless from then on.
Despite that, wrestling in SoCal felt amazing even on one leg. Hopefully nothing serious and I’ll be back to defend again soon.”
Also on Rampage, it was announced that a new interim AEW World Champion will be crowned while CM Punk is out of action with an injury. The #1 ranked Jon Moxley will be in action on Dynamite against that night’s Battle Royal winner to determine which AEW star will challenge for the interim gold at Forbidden Door on June 26.
Their opponent will either be Hiroshi Tanahashi or Hirooki Goto, with the two set to do battle at NJPW Dominion to determine the second competitor who will wrestle for the interim title at Forbidden Door.
