Scotty 2 Hotty departed WWE back on November 23, 2021 after spending over 5 years as a coach for NXT and WWE’s Performance Center.
Scotty recently held a virtual signing with K&S Wrestlefest, where he was asked about which NXT 2.0 talents to look out for in the future.
Scotty named Von Wagner and Grayson Waller as the names to look out for, claiming that the latter was ‘a star’.
He said:
“(Von) Wagner’s good, but I was gonna say Grayson Waller. I don’t know if you guys are hearing of him now but man, the kid’s on fire and he’s just, to me, he’s a star. He’s gonna be huge. He gets it, you know?
Scotty also spoke about training Wagner, who is the son of Wayne Bloom (Beau Beverly). Scotty noted how him training Wagner was a ‘circle of life’ type situation, as his first match in WWF was against the Beverly Brothers.
He said:
“And Von Wagner too. He was one of my – I have certain people who I call my guys and my girls and he was one of my guys I felt like. His dad was actually my first match… they (The Beverly Brothers) were my first match in the WWF back in ’91 so then when Cal, Von Wagner came into my class, that was kind of like a – it was a cool thing. Kind of circle of life type of thing I guess, right?”
Grayson Waller has made several appearances on Raw in recent weeks as he was locked in a feud with AJ Styles. Styles defeated Waller in his singles debut on NXT on last week’s episode of NXT 2.0.
