Scrapped 2020 Royal Rumble Entrant Revealed

Everyone loves the Royal Rumble. Waiting in anticipation for the next entrant makes the stipulation arguably the best in all of WWE. However, what about the entrants that don’t make it into the match?

Fightful Select (subscription required) have revealed one of the Royal Rumble entrants that did not get used last year. The report states that NXT UK Champion Kay Lee Ray was brought to the venue but wasn’t used.

Furthermore, the report says that much of the NXT roster were unsure about if they would be used in the match until they were brought to rehearsal. Kay Lee Ray was among those who were brought to rehearsal, however, she did not receive a number to be used in the match itself.

The report does not specify if the plans were in place before the rehearsal of it that is just went talent would be informed of their involvement.

Kay Lee Ray was NXT UK Women’s Champion at the time and with Charlotte Flair challenging for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania, perhaps WWE did not want one of their women’s champions competing in the match. However, that is purely speculation.
