According to a new interview with Finn Balor, there was once a pitch to have him create a faction with former WWE stars, The Authors of Pain.
Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Balor admitted he once pitched the idea to management, but afterwards felt the idea may have been too similar to the Bullet Club.
He said:
“When I had discussed it before, I pitched the idea of going with the AOP. Looking back, it might have been too similar to Bullet Club and I feel like when you try to recreate something it’s never as good as the original.”
He went on to reveal that he’s feeling more creatively fulfilled than he has in years in WWE, now that he’s heading up Judgment Day.
“I feel like this Judgment Day is something so far removed from Bullet Club that it’s very refreshing, for me especially, not having to try to kind of recreate what I’ve done years and years ago. I’m more creatively filled than I have been in a long time in WWE.”
Balor revealed he feels like he’s been able to express himself a lot more since turning heel, which is good to hear, especially considering he’s one of WWE’s biggest and most talented stars.
