Find out the scrapped WrestleMania matches pitched for John Cena ahead of his major WrestleMania match this Saturday!

Although we’ll see John Cena hit the ring for WrestleMania 39 in a match against Austin Theory, it wasn’t the first idea.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, there were actually several pitches for John Cena in advance of the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’.

Per the report, there was one point that people within WWE were actually pushing for Cody Rhodes to face John Cena although by August it was determined he would be the one to face off against Reigns.

Apparently also considered for a match against John Cena and even planned for up until the Fall according to internal WWE documents?

The social media sensation turned WWE wunderkind, Logan Paul.

Although after the match between Seth Rollins and Logan Paul appeared finalized, Austin Theory was also nailed down for the bout against ‘Big Match John’.

WrestleMania 39 is set to kick off from So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, April 1 with the massive match.

John Cena versus Austin Theory for the United States Championship will open up the festivities as the first match for WrestleMania 39.
