Speaking with Behind The Gloves, undefeated boxer Tyson Fury has revealed the plans that WWE had for him last year that unfortunately had to be scrapped due to COVID-19.
At the Crown Jewel event in October 2019, Tyson Fury went one-on-one with Braun Strowman, and Fury has revealed that there were actually plans to have him work a match at a big UK pay-per-view against Drew McIntyre.
Fury also revealed that there were plans to have him involved at both WrestleMania 36 and SummerSlam last year. All of the plans that WWE had for Fury were dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
“I was supposed to go to SummerSlam last year and I was supposed to go to WrestleMania last year, and I was also supposed to fight Drew McIntyre in a pay-per-view event in the UK. But none of that happened thanks to COVID.”
At this time, it’s unclear whether or not WWE is planning on having Tyson Fury come back into the company now that some of the COVID-19 restrictions have started to ease. For more on that, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
