Seth Rollins Describes ‘Double-Edged Sword’ Of Vince McMahon WWE Regime WWE

2022 has been a wild year for professional wrestling, with the biggest story of all being Vince McMahon’s retirement from WWE, in all areas including creative.

With Triple H taking over creative, the changes he has installed have already become evident on WWE television, and it has led to an increase in ratings and interest in the show.

Seth Rollins has been pushed as a top star in the company by both Vince McMahon and Triple H, and he and Becky Lynch were the recent guests on the Out of Character podcast, where he was asked about the differences backstage under the Vince McMahon and Triple H regimes.

He said:

“I trusted Vince, but to have a breath of fresh air is really good. With Vince, it was a double-edged sword: You knew exactly who to go to, and there was security in that … If you got a yes from him, nothing else beneath that mattered. On the other side of that, he was very all over the place. That was part of his genius, but it was also very stressful.”

Rollins then went on to talk about Triple H’s booking, and how right ow he is still in the process of getting all his pieces into place.

“He’s just starting the chess board with all of his pieces messed up,” as Rollins put it. “Right now he’s just getting all his pieces in place, and then we’ll start marching … It’s a wild changeover and super-abrupt, which put all of us on our back foot, Triple H included. But I’m very excited to see what the future looks like in three to six months … That’s not a knock on Vince. It’s just, new is exciting … It’s like stepping into a parallel universe.”

Triple H’s first premium live event in charge of creative was SummerSlam, where he delayed the planned match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle until the Clash at the Castle show in Cardiff.
