Seth Rollins Makes Several AEW References On WWE Raw AEW

During last night’s (May 30) episode of WWE Raw, Seth Rollins made a number of clear references to AEW during a segment with Cody Rhodes.

The segment, which finished with a pull-apart brawl to build to their Hell in a Cell match this weekend, saw Rollins and Rhodes make a number of comments about each others’ pasts, with Rollins particularly focusing on Cody’s departure from WWE.

He suggested Cody left WWE because he wasn’t good enough, and then he came crawling back once he failed to defeat WWE with AEW.

Here’s what Seth said:

“You left WWE six years ago because you weren’t good enough. And then every single day that you were gone, you and your little friends tried to tear down what I was building here. And when that didn’t work out so well for you, you came running back.

“The prodigal son returns home to fulfil his family legacy. Not on my watch, pal! You don’t get to be the conquering hero in my kingdom. No, no, no. You don’t get to take a sledgehammer to the throne and get to come back to take back that throne from me.

“I don’t like you. I don’t want you here. In six days, I’m going to prey on your insecurities. I am not just going to change you, I will end you. Then we can finally wake up from this American Nightmare.”

This is far from the first time, nor will it be the last time that a WWE star has taken a shot at AEW or vice versa. But remember, it’s not a competition.
