Seth Rollins Opens Up On Struggles He Has With ‘WWE Unreal’ WWE

Seth Rollins has opened up on struggles he has with the ‘WWE Unreal’ Netflix series ahead of it’s second season.

The second season of the WWE Unreal series is set to premiere on Netflix on January 20, with various topics being covered on the show, including Seth Rollins fake injury angle and Money In The Bank cash in at SummerSlam.

The existence of WWE Unreal has been polarising for those in the wrestling world, with older wrestlers being against pulling back the curtain on the inner workings of the company.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Rollins noted that he has a ‘difficult relationship’ with the show, and opened up on his struggles.

He said:

“I have a really difficult relationship with the show in general. I’m younger, I’m under 40 still, but I have like an old school mentality, so for me to be pushed to the point of having to break kayfabe, it hurts me a bit.

“It’s difficult but I will say there are some things I want to protect, because I do believe the grey area in our business is what makes this special, that believability.

“The nice thing about the Unreal show is that it airs after the fact, it’s not in real time, we’re not giving the secrets away as their happening, we’re kind of peeling back the curtain on the back end of it, so I feel a little better about that.

“But there are some things that I still want to keep private and I made that very clear with the producers, there’s gonna be moments where I’m gonna tell you to shut it down, and if you don’t respect that then we’ll walk.

“They were very cool about that and I think what they got, I haven’t seen it I’ve only seen the previews, but it seems like they did a really good job of covering that story and showing kind of all the things that go into our business that, if you’re a new fan tuning into Netflix, I think there’s a deeper respect you’re gonna get for our business, and the performers, and the effort and time and intelligence it takes to go through this process of constantly tell stories.

“We don’t have an 8 week season we get to pre-plan. The season never ends. It never ends, it never stops, the stories are continuous, it’s a different animal and I think people will get a chance to see that and hopefully learn to respect a little bit in a different way what it is we do.”
