The last time we saw the Shield together was in April 2019, just before the now Jon Moxley moved to AEW to become one of the biggest stars in world wrestling.
Despite his move to AEW, many fans still dream of a day Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will once again be together in a wrestling ring, and Seth Rollins has now revealed when he thinks that day will be, or rather, will not be.
Speaking to Digital Spy, just ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Shield’s debut in WWE, Rollins admitted he cannot see the three men ever teaming together again.
He said:
“I can say that, and maybe this might come back to bite me at some point, but I just don’t think you’re ever going to see the three of us team up ever again.
“It wouldn’t look the way you want it to look. It wouldn’t be like the old days in The Shield, it would be a different animal. I think we’re all just too big stars with too big personalities at this point.
“We needed each other back then and now none of us need the other one,” he continued. “We’re at a point where we’re all standalone stars on a different level. So to have to kind of minimize that to fit into each other’s moulds, I just don’t see it ever happening again. I think it would look a whole lot different than the next time you see us together.”
He does however believe they will reunite at a very specific point.
“The next time you see us together it’s going to be when we’re inducted into the Hall of Fame. That’s going to be it.”
All three members of the Shield have big matches coming up soon, with Rollins is set to face Riddle at SummerSlam later this month, Roman Reigns facing Brock Lesnar at the same show, and Jon Moxley will presumably have an AEW World Championship unification match at All Out.
