Seth Rollins Says WWE Women Have Been Lagging Behind Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair

Multiple time WWE and Universal Champion Seth Rollins has come across as a bit critical of the majority of WWE’s women’s division.

With Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair inactive right now, Bayley and Sasha Banks have become the top stars of the division, but Rollins has said that the rest of the division was lagging behind Lynch and Flair for some time.

Speaking with talkSPORT, Seth Rollins said:

“I think it’s no secret that Bayley and Sasha [Banks] have done their god damndest to fill in with Becky being out and the women’s division just being wide open. Charlotte Flair being out now too. The women have been lagging behind Becky and Charlotte for some time and now it’s time for them to step up and do their thing. Asuka has stepped up too, as well, but I do think Bayley and Sasha have been great. They’ve filled that void as best as they possibly can and have been working like crazy as tag team champs and now Raw and SmackDown champs.”

In a separate interview with Sports Illutrated, Bayley spoke about her and Banks’ rise, saying:

“It took a long time for us to get here. There have been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of being held back, a lot of doing a lot for nothing. One of the things we heard a lot was, ‘We can always count on you.’ We believed they could count on us to run the whole company. It took a lot of proving, but that’s what we’re doing now. We are very vocal about what we believe is right and what we want to do to help the company and help the division. It’s finally being able to shine through, and it’s very rewarding.

“Everybody keeps saying, ‘It looks like you’re having so much fun,’ and it’s so awesome that people can tell. This is the most fun I’ve had on TV, and that’s because I love being around Sasha. We get along so freakin’ well, it’s been awesome.”
