Two-time WWE World Champion and WWE ‘Grand Slam’ winner, Seth Rollins, was a recent guest on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast and, among other things, discussed the most iconic man in sports entertainment history, the ‘Immortal’ Hulk Hogan.
Hogan was recently reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame, following a three year absence after he was recorded making racist comments, among loads of other really bad things.
Here’s what Rollins had to say about the ‘Hulkster:’
“For me I was captivated by Hulk Hogan right away. He was obviously the guy at that period of time and he just sucked me in man. I just thought he was legit like a super hero as if he was Tony Stark, you know, in the flesh. It doesn’t get any better than that. Here’s this six foot six [inch] giant with blonde hair, Venice Beach, California, 303 pounds, you know, beating up all the bad guys. It was awesome, so I was hooked before I can even remember an age.”
The ‘Kingslayer’ continued:
“The reason I wanted to do it [wrestling] was to make people feel the way I felt when I watched Hulk Hogan when I was four years old.”
With Hogan now seemingly in WWE‘s good books (also found in WWE‘s good books are “self-promotion,” “good publicity” and “let’s make Stephanie McMahon sound like she invented women”), there have been rumors of an on-screen return for Hogan. Maybe Rollins will get the chance to share a ring with his hero sometime in the future?
