Seth Rollins SHOOTS On The Rock Appearing At WrestleMania

Seth Rollins recently sat down for an interview with Sports Illustrated, during which he was posed the scenario whereby he might have a match with The Rock.

While Rollins was nothing but respectful towards Rock, the ‘Architect’ did question what purpose within the world of wrestling an appearance from the ‘People’s Champion’ would serve:

“Don’t get me wrong. I love Rocky. I think he’s great. Love everything he’s done for this business. But my gut, my first instinct, says we don’t need him. We don’t need him. If we’re not the guys who can main event WrestleMania, then how are we ever gonna be The Rock? How are we gonna be Stone Cold Steve Austin? We can’t hold on to these guys forever. We just can’t. To me, let’s do Seth Rollins-Roman Reigns before we do Seth Rollins-The Rock. That’s me.”

This is something many fans have held a very similar view on for quite some time. The viewpoint held is that by bringing in a star from the past, the current crop of WWE superstars is only so good and an appearance from an icon of yesteryear would inject a bit of buzz.

History tells us that WWE relying on stars from a bygone era is pretty limiting as no one who has ever come back has stayed for all that long, or appears that often, especially if we draw on the example of Bill Goldberg or Brock Lesnar.
