WWE star Seth Rollins has addressed uncertainty surrounding his role in an upcoming MCU movie, confirming whether or not he was in the latest trailer.
With delays, name changes, and the Hollywood strikes during its production, Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World has had an odd journey, ahead of hitting theaters in February.
With fans analysing every second of the latest trailer, rumors emerged that at around 1:44 into the trailer – which you can watch below this story – WWE’s Seth Rollins appeared in military gear.
There had been a lot of uncertainty about Rollins’ status for the movie, but this clip seemed to confirm that he’s still in the final cut… the key word being ‘seemed’.
Rollins has now taken to Twitter to confirm this was NOT him in this moment, replying to a tweet believing it was him with the comment:
Not me, kid. Sorry.
Seth Rollins was spotted on set for what was then ‘Captain America: New World Order’ in May 2023, with photographer and journalist Christopher Oquendo sharing a video of Rollins filming a scene, which you can view right here.
While the former WWE Champion noted that he was ‘sworn to secrecy‘ about his role that June, Rollins’ outfit in the Oquendo’s footage fuelled speculation that Rollins’ character would be part of the villainous Serpent Society in the movie.
Rollins’ MCU role has been uncertain since Marvel insider “CanWeGetSomeToast” reported in January that Rollins was indeed set to be part of the Serpent Society, but that this group had been cut from the movie during reshoots.
It has since been revealed that Giancarlo Esposito will play Sidewinder, the king of the Serpent Society, however it isn’t clear whether Rollins will be in the movie or not.
We will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.
