A number of one year AEW contract extensions that were reached earlier this year have now been reportedly revealed.
A number of major wrestling contracts have come up this year, with names such as Ricochet, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin making the move from WWE to AEW.
On top of those, a number of contract extensions have been agreed in both WWE and AEW, including Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins and Daniel Garcia.
However, a number of under the radar, but very important, contract extensions in AEW that were agreed upon earlier this year have now been revealed.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), numerous referees in AEW were renewed on one year deals to remain with the company earlier this year, so far back that they may already be mid-way through those deals.
Fightful was not given any specific names as of now, but were told that at least a couple ended up getting extended.
A number of the referees in the company saw their prior deals come to an end before being renewed, with Fightful noting that they are likely to be put on more long-term deals in the future.
Fightful was told this when gauging online criticism regarding a number of spots on pay-per-view where referees appeared to have pushed wrestlers’ shoulders up or placed them down, to which no direct reason for that was given, though Fightful was told that it will not continue.
