The 2022 women’s Royal Rumble was filled with former women’s stars, including Ronda Rousey who returned to emerge victorious in the match.
Per PWInsider, we now know of several women who were planned for the match, but did not appear. The first name mentioned is Lana, who was released from WWE back in June 2021.
Several people within WWE believed as late as the week of the Royal Rumble that she would be in the match, but her name was not mentioned as the show drew closer.
PWInsider also notes that Aksana and Jillian Hall were present backstage as potential stand-ins, in case anyone failed medical protocols. They both posted images on social media to confirm they were present.
Dave Meltzer also noted in the Wrestling Observer Radio that Kaitlyn was also present, but went unused.
