Several WWE Debuts, Real Reason For Recent Pre-Taped Matches & More WWE

There have been several WWE in-ring debuts, and in conjunction with that, the real reason for some recent pre-taped matches has emerged.

As we’ve been covering on the site for several weeks now, a number of WWE developmental talents were promoted and given their official ring names and debuted on NXT Level Up over the past few weeks.

They were Izzi Dame, Kiyah Saint, Trey Bearhill, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson DuPont and Karmen Petrovic.

Three matches look to have taken place prior to tonight’s NXT Heatwave going on air featuring some more debutants, but it does not appear these matches were taped to air on Level Up.

That would explain why there have been four Level Up matches taped for each of the past three weeks instead of three, meaning there are three saved up for this week’s episode, because this was clearly planned in advance.

Prior to NXT Heatwave tonight, Thea Hail was in action against a debutant named Brie Covington.

Following that, there was a match between Tyler Bate and another debutant in the form of Jonah Niesenbaum.

Niesenbaum is a wrestler for Duke University, and competed in the NCAA Championships a few months ago. He was also present at WrestleMania 39.

There was also a match featuring Joe Coffey but it’s unclear who he was against.

The exact statuses of Covington and Niesenbaum with WWE are unclear at this point but we’ll keep you posted with any more updates.

If they’re not signed with WWE, they’re clearly on the radar at the very least.

The matches that will likely air on Level Up this week that have been taped over the past three weeks and haven’t aired yet are Kiyah Saint vs Kiana James, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs Tyriek Igwe & Tyson DuPont, and SCRYPTS vs Dante Chen.
