Former WWE star Heath (Slater) now of IMPACT Wrestling has said that several stars in WWE have spoken to him about wanting to join him in IMPACT.
Heath was released by WWE in April along with many other names, and since Slammiversary has been on IMPACT TV, with a storyline seeing him trying to get signed to a contract.
In an interview with TVInsider, Heath revealed that he’s heard from WWE stars who want to join him but can’t because they’re locked in their current contracts. He said:
“They know when they are locked down under contract, they can’t get out. That’s the bottom line. You may have well signed yourself up for the military. But guys that did get released and guys from other companies have been texting and calling and asking about IMPACT. The WWE crew, some of them have been like, ‘Man, that would be awesome to do this, but I still got a year-and-a-half or another year.’ I’m like, ‘Remember what you’re saying because years go by pretty fast. So if you really want to, I might know a guy.’ The interest is there for sure.”
Heath wasn’t the only released WWE star to show up in the promotion, with the likes of EC3 and Eric Young doing the same – the latter of whom won the World Title a few weeks ago.
