Shane McMahon Returning To SmackDown Full-Time

Shane McMahon Returning To SmackDown Full-Time

Viewers caught the return of both Shane and Vince McMahon on SmackDown 1000 Tuesday night. In fact, we got to see the entire McMahon family reunite on the landmark show.

No matter your feelings toward the most influential family in pro wrestling, it evoked feelings of nostalgia to see them all together. They just haven’t been as visible on television as they used to be. (Not that we’re complaining.)

Vince has still been running everything, but has scaled back his TV appearances for years now. Stephanie has been using a constable (who is also a baron) as her surrogate on RAW on Monday nights. And in the absence of Shane, it’s been Paige handling the administration of SmackDown Live.

Where does this leave Shane, exactly? Technically, he is still the commissioner of the program in question, but you don’t hear much about him.

An answer may come from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who reports that Shane’s appearance on Tuesday is just the first of many. According to him, Shane should be back in full effect on SmackDown, ready to take up his on-air role again from this point on.

As Rajah.com points out, he has been away for more than one reason, according to their sources. First, to heal from lingering injuries, but also to let Paige grow into her role as GM of SmackDown.

It looks like we can expect to see a lot more of Shane-O-Mac.
