Shane McMahon’s son Declan has committed to play football as a walk-on at the University of Indiana, but hasn’t ruled out a future in WWE.
Speaking with Indy Star, Declan discussed his football career with the school, mentioning he also had offers from Duke, Rutgers, Fordham and East Carolina.
When asked about a potential future in professional wrestling, McMahon answered:
“I’ve tried it in my house. I have two younger brothers, so if we’re joking around I’ll pick them up and throw them on the couch. I’m going in with the mindset that I’ll cross that bridge when we get there. So right now no plans yet, but down the road, who knows? If I have to jump off a cage like my father, maybe that’s what I’ll do.”
Declan’s father Shane McMahon last competed in the ring back at WWE Royal Rumble 2022 in the Men’s Rumble.
As previously noted, Shane was originally planned to be on the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38 events before he was “quietly let go” by WWE.
McMahon was present during WrestleMania 38 weekend for the WWE Hall of Fame.
