Shawn Michaels Hopes To Be ‘Powerful One-Two Punch’ With Triple H WWE

Shawn Michaels hopes to be a “powerful one-two punch” with Triple H between NXT and the main roster.

The landscape of WWE has changed dramatically since Vince McMahon’s retirement and Triple H taking over as head of creative on the main roster.

Ahead of his new role, The Game was the mastermind behind NXT, which his best friend Michaels now oversees.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Shawn Michaels discussed Triple H’s new position and his hope that the former D-Generation X can create some synergy between NXT and the main roster.

He said:

“We hope now that we can put together a really powerful one-two punch between NXT and the main roster that’s going to drive WWE to even greater heights. He wants to stick to the mission statement, which is to be the greatest sports entertainment company on the face of the earth. I’m going to do everything here to help, and he’ll have the entire support of NXT. We’re all excited for the future.”

In working with the main roster, a new report has revealed that HBK was the one tasked with facilitating talks with a former NXT star to return to the company.

It was also announced on the August 8 edition of Raw that two NXT 2.0 stars are set to make their main roster debut in the ongoing WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament.
