Shawn Michaels Names Most Improved NXT Stars Of Last Year WWE

With much speculation on the future of NXT after the 2.0 has seemingly been wiped away, Shawn Michaels is speaking about the year that was.

After celebrating the one year anniversary of NXT 2.0, the 2 seemed to evaporate as a graphic was shown revealing a new white and gold emblazoned logo for the brand.

With even the emote changing on the Twitter hashtag for #WWENXT, it is obviously official! However, that doesn’t mean that Shawn Michaels feels the year was a waste.

Speaking to My San Antonio about NXT 2.0, Michaels said:

“Unfortunately there are times to where the world is a little desensitized to what actually happened here in the last 12 months.

“We had 75 percent of the roster who had just graduated college the year before and had never stepped foot inside wrestling ring.

“These are young men and women who had to learn on live television for the last 12 months and that is unheard of in any generation.

“They all stepped up the challenge and took a lot of hits on the way. A lot of us did. But I am proud of the Bron Breakkers, the Tony D’Angleos, the Tiffany Strattons, and so many people.”

Specifically when asked to speak to which talent were most improved, Michaels said:

“I think Bron, obviously, it is in his blood. So some think he has cheated. He gets a free pass, but you take someone like Tony D’Angelo or the Creed Brothers, who have done tremendous work, and I will say this, I am a little biased, but Tiffany Stratton is someone who you see visibly get better each time she is out there.”

After two weeks of pre-taped editions airing after the announcement that NXT was dropping the 2.0, the developmental brand is back live on Tuesday.

You can watch NXT live on Tuesdays at 8pm EST on USA network.
