Shawn Michaels has responded to comments made on The Pat McAfee Show regarding the WWE NXT talent roster.
WWE 2K24 is in the middle of its post-release DLC roadmap, with the third of five downloadable content packs set to release on July 31.
This new DLC is the ‘Pat McAfee Show’ pack and features WWE Raw commentator Pat McAfee, along with four of his co-hosts on his popular YouTube show: Boston Connor, Ty Schmidt, AJ Hawk and Darius Butler.
While DLC in of itself is often a contentious topic amongst gamers, 2K’s post-release content has seen some popular additions to the game’s roster such as CM Punk, The Dudley Boyz and Terry Funk, with others such as Jade Cargill to be released later this year.
The ‘Pat McAfee Pack’ however, has not gone down too well with much of the WWE 2K fanbase, with everyone but Pat McAfee included in the pack having no affiliation or history with WWE or wrestling.
Despite McAfee insisting that he and his co-hosts weren’t taking any other wrestler’s spot in the game, the release has still been met with backlash.
In response, Ty Schmidt would call out fans who wanted to play as “NXT nobodies” that “nobody wants to play as”, something that caught the attention of NXT star Karmen Petrovic who defended the fans’ stance.
Now in a further development, NXT boss Shawn Michaels has now jumped to the defence of his roster calling out McAfee’s co-hosts and even laying out a challenge for a four on four “ass kicking”.
Taking to Twitter, Michaels wrote:
