Shawn Michaels has opened up on the Undertaker’s current role on creative for AAA following the sale to WWE.
Since WWE announced that it had purchased Lucha Libre AAA at WrestleMania 41 last year, the show has featured a number of names from the WWE main roster integrated in with the current AAA roster.
WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has taken the reins of creative for the promotion in recent months, with fans praising the Deadman’s work with the promotion following the recent El Grande Americano brawl angle.
Shawn Michaels Praises The Undertaker’s Work In AAA
Speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Shawn Michaels opened up on The Undertaker’s role in AAA, and the irony of him running a Lucha Libre promotion.
He said:
“We joke about that quite a bit, of course here’s this unbelievably stoic figure in his WWE career, and he’s out there with the Luchadores and everything else going 100 miles an hour.
“So poetic, and he’s doing a fantastic job, and that’s no surprise. He’s the man in so many ways, he’s incredibly bright and of course, once he started coming around the Performance Center and jumping into LFG, much like myself, that love, that itch comes back and it makes you want to give back.
“So he’s no surprise doing a fantastic job with AAA, but it is sort of ironic that, of all people, the man who was The Undertaker out there, the Lucha Libre style being his trademark going forward in his career.”

Main Roster WWE Stars In AAA
While AAA has it’s own roster of Luchadores, including Hijo del Vikingo, Octagon Jr, Flammer and the newly debuted La Catalina, there are also a number of WWE main roster talents doing arguably better work in the promotion than Raw and SmackDown.
The obvious names being both the Original and Current El Grande Americano, who recently went viral for their incredible brawl on this week’s episode of the show to a white hot crowd.
On top of them, Bayley also recently appeared in AAA to face Flammer for the Reina de Reinas Championship, with her receiving another incredible reaction from the crowd, as well as Penta defending the Intercontinental Championship against Vikingo in AAA this week.
While it is important that AAA does not rely too much on WWE main roster stars at the expense of their own roster, the energy of the show can be a good way to breathe new life into certain floundering talents.
