Shawn Spears has potentially hinted at leaving AEW, which would make him the latest of several stars to indicate that they are done with the promotion.
Spears debuted for AEW at the company’s inaugural pay-per-view Double Or Nothing in 2019, competing in the pre-show Casino Battle Royale.
Per WreslingNews.co, the Chairman posted a gif on twitter which said “Goodbye.” He deleted the post shortly afterwards.
Shortly after Spears posted the gif, fellow AEW star Sammy Guevara tweeted “You are a jobber. A favor hire. Be grateful b*tch.”
Though Guevara did not tag anybody in the tweet, the timing of it may indicate that it was directed at Spears.
There have been no other indications that Spears is leaving AEW, and the exchange (if it was an exchange) may be the start of an angle between himself and Guevara.
Guevara’s tweet could also have been directed at Andrade El Idolo, who has also been teasing his departure from the company for some time now.
In a recent interview, El Idolo hinted at some backstage heat between himself and Guevara, arising from the latter complaining that El Idolo hits too hard.
