Former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler has commented after she was among multiple names released by WWE today, May 2, 2025.
Baszler, along with Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance are the five main roster talents that are confirmed to have been released as of this writing.
Responding to the news, Baszler tweeted:
No one can offer what I have to offer. Reality. Let the Galaxy burn.
Shayna Baszler signed with WWE NXT in 2017, going on to have a dominant run that led to her being a two-time NXT Women’s Champion, and a record that still stands to this day in the longest combined days as champion across those reigns.
After being called up to the main roster in 2020, she became a three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion – twice alongside Nia Jax, and once alongside Ronda Rousey.
She had most recently been a member of Pure Fusion Collective before Sonya Deville was let go by WWE in February, meaning Zoey Stark is now the only member still with the company.
