Sheamus made his return to WWE Raw during tonight’s May 5 episode at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Last week on Raw, Grayson Waller made a request to Adam Pearce for a singles match on this week’s show.
However, Waller was shown with Pearce backstage tonight seemingly having second throughts after finding out his opponent.
Waller’s tag team partner Austin Theory then came into the room, with Waller feigning generosity and offering Theory the spot in the match instead, acting like he was doing a good deed.
When Theory asked who the match was against, Waller said it would be better as a surprise.
It ended up being Sheamus, making his first appearance since the WWE Royal Rumble match in early February.
Theory was visibly frustrated as he seemingly realized that this was a case of Waller trying to avoid Sheamus, not just a case of him offering Theory a match out of the good of his heart.
Theory and Sheamus had a competitive match, but it was Sheamus who ended up scoring the win with a Brogue Kick.
