Sheamus hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since suffering a concussion on the SmackDown Live after WrestleMania 35, and there have been fears that his career might be over.
Despite this, Sheamus has remained confident that he will at some point be able to return to the ring, and has now revealed what he wants to target when he does.
Speaking on a recent appearance on Edge & Christian’s Pod of Awesomeness, Sheamus revealed that the thing he wants more than anything is to complete the WWE grand slam by winning the Intercontinental Championship.
“There is one thing missing, and that’s the Intercontinental Championship. I’ve won a lot of titles in the very first half of my career. The two things that were missing were the IC Title and Tag Titles. With Cesaro, we basically blitzed five titles — four Raw, one SmackDown — in about two and a half years.
“The IC Title is next on the list. The irony of that whole thing is, that was the one title that brought me into WWE. When I was a kid, I was a massive Macho Man Randy Savage fan. That was the one title I loved, and it’s the one title I haven’t won. That’s the coveted prize for me.”
Sheamus recently admitted to missing the ring, so if he’s fit and healthy, perhaps we’ll see the return of the Great White in the near future.
