WWE SmackDown star Sheamus has revealed his main goal for 2023, following an eventful year for the Brawling Brutes.
Sheamus has had an eventful 2022, alongside his faction members Ridge Holland and Butch.
The Irish star recently clashed with the Bloodline, notably battling Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his faction with the Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens at Survivor Series WarGames.
Despite coming to blows with the company’s top champion, Sheamus has his sights set on another title.
Sharing a WWE post on Twitter about his previous feud with Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, Sheamus made it clear that he still wants to win the IC Title.
Putting GUNTHER on notice, Sheamus tweeted:
“..in 2023 i take the IC.”
Sheamus and GUNTHER faced off in two Intercontinental Title bouts in 2022, with GUNTHER retaining his gold over the Irish star at Clash At The Castle, before picking up another controversial victory on the October 7 edition of SmackDown.
The Intercontinental Title is the last championship Sheamus needs to win to officially become a WWE Grand Slam Champion, following his previous world, tag team and US championship reigns.
Sheamus recently revealed that seeing an IC Title belt at Edge’s home gave him the motivation to return to the ring a few years ago, when he was considering hanging up his boots following a serious injury.
