The Japanese sensation Shigehiro Irie has captured the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship by winning wXw 16 Carat Gold 2023.
For the first time, the prestigious tournament was for the vacant World Championship of the promotion.
Irie, who was able to reach the semi-finals last year, defeated Axel Tischer – the former Alexander Wolfe in WWE – in the main event of Night 3.
He joins the ranks of legendary winners like Chris Hero (2007, 2014), Gunther/WALTER (2010), Sami Zayn/El Generico (2012), Malakai Black/Tommy End (2013, 2015), and Jonathan Gresham (2022).
Over the 3-day festival, thousands of fans were able to see a lot of matches and the return of homegrown talent like Levaniel, Michael Knight, and Jurn Simmons.
In addition, international stars like Impact X-Division Champion Trey Miguel, Davey Richards, and Masha Slamovich did feature in the events.
