Another Shinsuke Nakamura rivalry was potentially revealed following this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Nakamura made his return to the ring on the April 14 show, defeating Madcap Moss in under two minutes.
The popular star was called out by Karrion Kross on the April 21 episode of SmackDown, with Kross stating that he will take away Nakamura’s honor in a backstage segment.
While Nakamura wasn’t in action during the live SmackDown broadcast, the Japanese star stepped into the ring after cameras stopped rolling to compete in a dark match.
In a bout just for the fans in attendance, Nakamura faced off against LA Knight in singles action.
Nakamura was ultimately victorious, pinning Knight to build more momentum.
WWE often uses dark matches to experiment with or test out match-ups, so after Nakamura and Kross clash, the former Intercontinental Champion could enter a feud with LA Knight on TV.
Knight last wrestled on WWE TV on last week’s SmackDown, losing to Xavier Woods.
