Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX, featuring the first night of the 2020 WWE Draft, was very noteworthy for one particular faction.
Big E defeated Sheamus in a falls count anywhere match to open the show, after which Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made their returns.
On the same night they came back, Kingston & Woods became the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions by defeating Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura later in the show.
But the news didn’t stop there. After their win, it was announced that the faction had been split via the WWE Draft – Kingston & Woods were drafted to Raw (despite being SmackDown Tag Team Champions) whereas Big E was drafted to SmackDown.
It had been rumoured beforehand that they would be on separate brands but would still stay together as a unit (same gear, entrance etc.), but we’ll have to see how that plays out.
We have full draft picks from tonight’s show available at this link. The draft continues on Talking Smack tomorrow so stay tuned as we’ll be covering that too.
