An update has emerged on Shotzi’s future following her WWE departure which was confirmed yesterday (May 3).
On Saturday it was noticed that WWE NXT star Shotzi had been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s roster page.
Confirmation soon followed that the 33 year old’s time with the company was coming to an end.
Unlike others who were released from their WWE contracts since Friday, Shotzi’s exit reportedly came due to WWE opting not to extend her contract, however, it was unclear when her deal would be coming to an end officially.
While there is still no firm date known regarding Shotzi’s contract expiry, Fightful Select has revealed that her deal will come up in the Spring or Summer, but “before 90 days”.
Given that Shotzi was not released she is not subject to a non-compete clause – which typically sees main roster stars serve 90 days of inactivity and those from NXT serve 30 days – she will be free to move elsewhere as soon as her deal expires.
The report also stated that Shotzi “saw the writing on the wall” with her WWE exit and prepared her much-discussed social media promo on May 1 as a result.
While Shotzi wasn’t mentioned by name, sources within Major League Wrestling told Fightful that the company would likely have interest in some of the female stars released by WWE.
We will provide updates on Shotzi’s contract and next moves when they become available.
