Shotzi & Nox Recall Working With Sasha Banks & Bayley

SmackDown newcomers and Baron Corbin shooters Shotzi (Blackheart) & Tegan Nox have made an impact as a tag team in their short stint on the blue brand.

The duo defeated the Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina in a contender’s match to earn a shot at the titles. This actually will not be the pair’s first shot at the gold, as they faced then-champions Sasha Banks & Bayley on NXT for the titles in a losing effort last year.

Speaking on this week’s episode of The Bump, Shotzi & Nox spoke about the match and what it meant to work with two of WWE’s top women.

Shotzi said:

“Oh, I learned so much. We look up to them. The nerves were all there in that match. But you know, we got close. It wasn’t a squash. We definitely showed them that we belong here. And you know, a year later, we’re back at it. We’re going after those championships.”

Nox then weighed in, saying:

“During the match, we were like, we want the championships, and this is what we’re focusing on. Then after, we were like we were just in there with Bayley and Sasha for the titles. That’s really cool. Here’s this small-town girl from Wales who just went up for the Women’s Tag Team Championship against two of the world’s best wrestlers. That’s something you never think would happen. But then you get to bathe in what just happened. But at the time, this is the task at hand: I need to kick someone in the face and try to win some gold.”

Tegan also spoke in a recent interview that she thought her and Shotzi’s debut was the beginning of an NXT invasion.
