Siliana Gaspard, Widow Of Shad Gaspard, Claiming Negligence In Husband’s Death

Earlier this year, former WWE star Shad Gaspard tragically passed away as he was swept out to sea in Venice Beach. He had instructed lifeguards to save his son before he was pulled under the water.

Now, his wife Siliana Gaspard has filed court papers against the state of California, Los Angeles County, and Los Angeles. She is claiming negligence and dangerous condition of public property. Here is the quote from the Los Angeles Daily News detailing Siliana’s claims:

“insufficient signs warning of the dangers of swimming there, that lifeguards who tried to rescue her husband and his 10-year-old son near the 4200 block of S. Ocean Front Walk were understaffed and not properly trained, and that they did not bring the proper equipment. She further alleges the rescuers assisted the boy, but left Shad Gaspard in the water to die.”

Siliana is seeking an unspecified amount for damages and burial costs.

Shad Gaspard’s body was recovered on May 20 after he was last seen on May 17, 2020.
