Silas Young has worked for Ring of Honor for over a decade and been a mainstay for the last six years. He revealed that his contract with ROH is up at the end of the year, and said that he would be open to negotiating with WWE.
As Young is nearing 40 years old, this may be his last opportunity to sign a significant contract in the wrestling business. Young also attended the Nov. 26 episode of Raw and further stoked the rumors of him potentially joining WWE. These rumors appear to be false, though. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Young has a new deal in place with ROH.
Young is reported to be signing a three-year extension with ROH. As for why Young was at Raw, it wasn’t said to be business related at all. Young is from Wisconsin where Raw was being held in Milwaukee and was there with his son to watch the show.
Young is a two time ROH Television Champion and now has three more years to chase the company’s biggest prize, the ROH World Championship, or he could look for a third run with the TV title. Whatever lies ahead for Young, it will apparently be happening in an ROH ring.
