Simone Johnson Reacts To Criticism Of WWE Name Change WWE

Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has reacted to fan criticism of her WWE name change.

As noted earlier, Johnson has changed her Twitter handle to ‘AvaRaineWWE’, a name that WWE recently filed to trademark.

A portion of the wrestling world has criticised the name change, unsure why WWE would want to steer away from her family’s legacy, as it appears they are doing.

Replying to Louis Dangoor’s post arguing that WWE not acknowledging that The Rock is her father is ridiculous, Simone, now Ava, tweeted:

“I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last i’ll mention this but i don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic. a name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family ??‍♀️

“I could build my entire career around my father & people would still bash me anyway ??‍♀️”

For any fans about to suggest that she should be called ‘The Pebble’ or any other rock-derivative, Ava has shared a list of rocks that she doesn’t want to be named after:

Signing with the WWE Performance Center in February 2020, Ava has yet to make her in-ring debut on NXT.
