SmackDown Live Tag Team Match Set!

It has been announced by Smackdown Live General Manager Paige, that SummerSlam opponents Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will team on tonight’s edition to battle the Iiconics.

Just two weeks ahead of #SummerSlam, this is an exciting time! But every Tuesday night on #SDLive is exciting (especially with me in charge)! So…let’s make it official: @BillieKayWWE & @PeytonRoyceWWE vs. @BeckyLynchWWE & @MsCharlotteWWE.
Now that is IICONIC WOO FIRE!

The fracas comes off the back of the former NXT duo teasing the friends on Twitter over the weekend that the former Smackdown Live Women’s Champions had never defeated the Australian duo. Yes, that famous battleground where all the best wars are fought. Unfortunately for Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, the ‘Queen’ and ‘Lass Kicker’ fought back.

Whilst a babyface victory is expected, it’s refreshing that WWE are doing something Royce and Kay. They’ve been lost in the crowd since joining Tuesday nights and should arguably have a bigger role.

Charlotte Flair returned to the blue brand last, saving her Irish chum from an attack by Carmella. She was then inserted into the SummerSlam Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Match on August 19, making it a Triple Threat Match. It’s expected we will see some tension between two of the Four Horsewomen on the road to their collision in two weeks time.
