Any SmackDown fans hoping for the blue brand to defeat Raw in the ratings this week will be left disappointed with the news that the show only drew 1.977 million viewers.
Although a positive can be found in the number being slightly up from last week’s 1.948 million, it is still the third lowest the show has managed since moving to its current live Tuesday night spot.
SmackDown had tough competition from NCIS (12.276 million), The Voice (8.964 million) and The Conners (6.675 million).
Raw, which drew its lowest rating of the modern era with 2.194 million viewers, only beat SmackDown by 200,000 viewers. Last week Raw beat SmackDown by over 300,000 viewers.
If the pattern continues, SmackDown could well become WWE’s top rated show sooner rather than later.
