Naomi Getting A Henchperson

Since SummerSlam, fans of SmackDown Live have been frustrated at seeing one of their most beloved babyfaces battle against the odds and still fail to get the job done.

The fans want to cheer her, but ineffective booking has positioned her feud with Cha- Oh, this isn’t about Becky Lynch? It’s about Naomi?! OK then.

Former Women’s champion and funkadactyl Naomi has found herself in the exact same position Lynch was several months ago – stuck in a repeating low-level feud with a heel twosome. But rather than Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, she’s been losing quick matches against Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in consecutive weeks.

But now it might be her turn to get some surprise roll-up victories! That’ll show them.

Naomi has tweeted a picture of herself looking despondent, with the caption “At this point I’m about to pay someone to have my back.”

Naomi is possibly teasing the return of her former Team B.A.D. faction member Tamina, who’s been out injured with a torn rotator cuff since the Women’s Royal Rumble in January.

Other henchperson contenders include the currently not-doing-anything Asuka, her husband’s tag team The Usos or maybe even an NXT call-up.

But, let’s be honest, it’ll probably be a Bella twin because they’re f****** everywhere.

It’s just the latest women’s tag team that appears to be forming in WWE. The Riott Squad, The Hug and Boss Connection, Absolution, The IIconics, and now Naomi teasing a partner. This would make the foundations for the women’s tag division that’s been teased for the last few months, which could debut at WWE’s upcoming all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution on October 28th.

A historic milestone for the company…

WWE Returning To Saudi Arabia Just Days After Evolution

…that’ll be completely undermined several days later by WWE going back to Saudi Arabia.

PWInsider is reporting that the WWE live events originally scheduled in Sweden and Norway on October 31st and November 1st have been moved to November 11th and 12th, because the promotion will be returning to Greatest Royal Rumble host country Saudi Arabia – with whom WWE have reportedly signed a lucrative, controversial 10 year deal. Controversial because female wrestlers are banned from competing under the country’s laws, and women are unable to attend shows without abiding by certain rules. A culture that jars with WWE’s women’s revolution mission.

Both the Wrestling Observer and PWInsider say WWE’s next show in the country will be on Friday 2nd November – just five days after the Evolution pay-per-view.

Saudi Arabia Womens Rights Controversy

And further deepening both the controversy and hypocrisy, The Washington Post is reporting that five, non-violent activists are currently in prison in Saudi Arabia – one of whom for protesting against the lack of women’s rights in the country, and prosecutors are calling for her to be given the death penalty. If the punishment is agreed upon, she would apparently be the first female human rights activist in Saudi history to be executed.

One of WWE’s words they tried to drill into us during the Greatest Royal Rumble was how ‘progressive’ their Saudi host city of Jeddah was. Reports like this expose that as nothing more than state propoganda. But they do have lots of money, and sometimes that’s all that matters.
